We have been considering the word “house” with its true meaning being “a way or realm of life”. This points to a life being lived according to the Father’s will and purpose, declaring His plan for the ages. For this cause, we should take note of Heb. 3:5-6, “And Moses verily was faithful in all His house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after. But Christ as a Son, over His own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.” Christ is worthy of much more glory than Moses because Moses was merely a servant, and himself a member of the house. In contrast, in God, Christ is both builder and Lord of His house and He is the fulfillment of all that Moses foreshadowed. Let us notice the contrast:
Moses House Christ House
1. Servant in the house 1. House of Son-ship
2. House of servitude 2. House of Becoming
3. Obeying Laws 3. Nature of God
Thus, Moses’ house or way of life was, as a servant, going about trying to obey the laws regulating the house. But the Christ house was a house that birthed those who were to become sons by nature. They were becoming a people in the likeness of Christ, to become Christ’ dwelling place within them, manifesting His many member body. Eph. 2:19-22 reads, “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone; In Whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto a holy Temple in the Lord; in Whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God through the Spirit”.
With the house of the Christ becoming a many member house, it is growing together to become the fullness of His Temple and His habitation. This, God’s dwelling place, is the house that is being filled with an authority to do God’s “last day” work. In reading John 12:1-5 let’s take notice that it is now time for His feet members to receive the in-Christ anointing, “Then Jesus six days before the Passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom He raised from the dead. There they made Him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with Him. Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment. Then said one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which would betray Him, why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence and given to the poor?”
Here we notice the number 300 is used which is a number God uses for “divine deliverance”. As used in this scripture, we should consider the truth that this “feet companies” anointing is for bringing divine deliverance to a groaning creation. Recognize also that with Lazarus, he that was dead but now was present, drawing our attention to the resurrection power of God as being a part of this last day anointing. With this feet company of the body of Christ anointed to usher in divine deliverance, the old house of the law lays desolate. The house of the law, which had rejected the anointed Savior, continued to live according to fleshly their desires. All that remains of them will be an empty system of religion, even with its man-made temples, rituals and sacrifices. As we consider these empty of true life religious systems, what about the emptiness of religious gatherings that function today among modern day man?
Luke 13:34-35, “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killed the prophets, and stoned them that are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see Me, until the time come when ye shall say, blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord“. This “time” spoken of here is the last day anointed “Feet Company,” the first-fruits of God’s harvest coming forth in a full measure. These are the results of God writing His nature upon their hearts and in their minds. The true house of the Lord is becoming the dwelling place of God Almighty and is establishing His kingdom through the necessary judgments coming from God.
Meanwhile, the adversary’s house, his way of life, shall be spoiled and made desolate. These anointed ones shall bind up the strong one’s house. It is the strong one, the adversary, who has held the world in bondage to a way of life which makes them captive to the darken world and all that is carnally wicked and evil. This is a way of life that calls evil – good and good – evil and it will be spoiled, and all its goods will be plundered. Mark 3:27, “No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.” Generations have been and are now in bondage to this strong man, that old adversary’s house under the guise of religious freedom, which has falsely declared to be patterned after the ways of God. In the above verse, the word “goods,” is interpreted to mean “vessels (of gold and silver)”. This is speaking of God’s nature through His available redemption. These, the vessels which have been bound and held captive by carnal religious concepts, they shall be released as the anointed ones of God appear to release God’s Day of Atonement unto the earth.
Now let us look at a house called “the house of the harlot” which is also called “a strange woman.” Herein, we see another need for the deliverance of a people, those which remain bound by a harlot system of religion. These live after the orders of manufactured church systems, that which is their own man-made houses, their own religious life-styles which have become a “way of life”. Here we have a people who would rather follow the fabricated traditions of man, while they refuse to be led by the Holy Spirit of God. As Jeremiah says in chapter 5 verse 7, “How shall I pardon thee for this? Thy children have forsaken me and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlot’s houses.”
Is this not a picture of much of today’s Christian Community? The many who refuse to allow themselves to recognize a need for a God’s sent Holy Spirit leadership. Is it not so that God’s Holy Spirit needs to be ever present, giving them continual guidance in all their activities? They have become lukewarm in their gatherings by following after man-made rituals left to them by their ancestor’s life-styles. Where is the fresh daily bread that comes forth from God’s throne? The houses of this harlot have produced a “way of life” which the scripture calls a house inclined to death. Proverbs 2:18-19, “For her [strange women] house inclines unto death, and her paths unto the dead. None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.”
However, unto those who become the true “house of the Lord,” a mighty glory rest upon them. A group of people liken unto some of the children of Israel are now delivered out from their Babylonian captivity. In coming out, they are being asked to consider God’s house. Haggai 2:3, “Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? And how do ye see it now? Is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?” God brought about their deliverance from Babylon for a purpose, that they might restore the temple of God, being restored back to a God way of life. Nevertheless, the mind-set of these people had remained ignorant concerning God’s purpose. The purpose which God had for them had been disannulled until they could recognize the need concerning the reason and purpose for their present tense God purposed freedom.
Haggai 1:2, “Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, this people say, the time is not come, the time that the Lord’s house should be built.” Speaking here of a mind-set which has left out the need for God’s “way of life” to be rebuilt. Thus, they remained desolate of God’s way of life while each one, each family earnestly contended to build for themselves a house or way of life in which to satisfy self. In building for themselves, they let God’s house continue in its desolation. Haggai 1:4, “Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your ceiled houses, and this [God’s house] lie waste”.
This word “ceiled” means “paneled” the lining of an arched roof. This shows that their houses were not only roofed, but also wainscoted or decorated, houses that they maintained faithfully. Consider that the mind-set of these former captives could not begin to compare the greatness of Solomon’s Temple and the waste of Haggai’s day. Because of their 70 years of captivity in Babylon, they were a willing people for freedom but didn’t maintain the vision needed to see the greatness of their God. In this, God’s people of today need to remember, His purpose for salvation is for the building of Himself a house in which to dwell. His house is a house that will have many rooms or individual members, dwelling places or mansions, with this declaration, “The glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former.”
A question to be asked! How does today’s Christian Community compare to the early church? The early church in the Book of Acts is the one that came forth from that upper room on the Day of Pentecost. This feast of Pentecost filled them with the power and authority of God. However, like the Children of Israel and because of a mind-set established by years of spiritual captivity, the church has become a splintered group manifesting the results of false teachings and deceitful traditions. Today’s Christian Community, for the most part, does not feel that this last day church is to measure up to the early church. What kind of captivity has produced such a mind-set? The church has fallen into captivity because they have allowed the people to drift away from the Gospel that states, “You must worship God in Spirit and in Truth.”
The Holy Spirit has now been replaced or completely removed from the activities of most of the weakened church of today. How, because rituals alone have become so common place and so important that man thinks there is no further need for the Spirit’s presence to present God in spirit and truth. The Truth of God is now distorted by man’s doctrines and traditions that expel God’s truth in exchange for man’s truth. Is not God a God of increase? Not just monetary gain, but increase in revelation of truth that enables His people to mature into God’s purposed state of perfection. Nevertheless, because of a Babylonian mind-set, most feel that it is impossible to manifest the likeness of Jesus. They fail to see and understand that God’s purpose is to have first-fruits, a many member body of people in which to dwell, a body that will measure up to a glorious church, without spot or wrinkle. This failure results in man’s nature remaining the same without change, a people not knowing change by that same Holy Spirit because most have rejected Him.
God has this to say, Haggai 2:6-9, “For thus saith the Lord of host, yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of host. The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts. The glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts.” God’s promise is that we shall see His glory fill the house. A house, the church without spot or wrinkle, shall rise up out of the rubble of today’s distorted fallen down church. God is building Himself a house to live in. This latter-day church shall be a glorious church. God shall find rest as He lives in His people to manifest all His will and purpose throughout His creation.
Heb. 12:25-28, “See that ye refuse not Him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused Him That spoke on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him That speaketh from heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now He hath promised, saying, yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. And this word, yet once more, signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things, which cannot be shaken, may remain. Wherefore we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.” The appearing of Christ in His body is even now upon us. At this appearing there shall be a removal of those things that are earthly and temporal, in this the heavenly and the spiritual things of God’s truth will appear and remain.
