“God’s Purpose”

Today, seemingly, as never before in our time, people are asking this question. Just what is the purpose of Christianity? The answer to this question is that which God desires for the whole world to know and become a part of, which is, to put His people into a new state of existence. This involves a reforming of our complete nature, the purifying of our soul. Purifying the soul speaks of putting on a new mind, responding to a new will, reacting with different emotions and to be motivated by new and different desires. The results of these changes enable us to allow our souls to be the habitation of heavenly and immortal realms. Acts 17:28 confirms this as Paul speaks to the Greeks, “for in Him [God] we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, for we are also His offspring”. As a people becoming the sons and daughters of God, we, like natural offspring go through the processing of maturity until we become of full age, which is full maturity. The results are not just to die and go into a grave, but to know the eternals of God.

2 Cor. 5:1-4, “For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation, which is from heaven, if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life”.

When the scriptures declare that all things, from the beginning were of the son of God, redemption also comes forth by Him. John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me”. Could this scripture mean more than just knowing about Him? Could it mean more than becoming acquainted with Him? When stating that He is the way, the truth, and the life, His statement declares a crossover into that same life and truth that flows through Him. This speaks of a realm that takes us into another order of life than that of the fallen man. It speaks of the same life of the heavenlies that flowed through Jesus Christ is now to flow through us, no longer remaining of the earth, earthly but becoming one with the heavens, heavenly.

Man birthed from the bloodline of Adam and Eve makes us one with earthly humanity. However, humanity in its fallen condition manifests a corrupt nature. This declaration of change speaks that the human nature is to know transformation before it can enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. The corruption that exists in our fallen mortal bodies makes it necessary for mortification, self-denial and a death to these bodies of corruption a complete necessity. This speaks to us of a need for a new birth, a birth that comes by the receiving of the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God, through a progressive act forms in us that life which the resurrection of Jesus Christ entitles us, progressing from the realm of death to the fullness of the realm of life. It includes the putting on of the Christ so that His nature flows through us.

To live a life as the in-Christed ones, we must meet the terms of our covenant with Christ. This means a life of fearing and avoiding all response to that old corrupted nature. This speaks of cherishing the divine inspirations of the Holy Spirit as we open our minds to receive the revealing of the divine light of God. Divine light enables us to follow all the grace and perfections of our new birth. 1 Tim. 6:11-12, “But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you are also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses”.

“Eternal life” as spoken of in this scripture speaks of “age lasting life”. This makes the new birthing of the human life an act of infinite importance in this age. Human life is, a life placed at a point between two eternities, the past and the future, but called to become eternal life in God. For this cause, there is a need for God given wisdom, which makes it necessary to understand our new state. It speaks of a need to conduct ourselves according to the principles of our redemption. These principles speak loudly of the one most important act – OBEDIENCE, obedience to God alone.

In becoming Christ-like in our living, we are a part of God’s invisible life in the Holy Spirit, supported by the spiritual graces of faith and hope. Meanwhile, all those who reject the life of Christ, they shall worship another god. Rev. 13:8, All who dwell on the earth will worship him [beast], whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb [have not received the Christ nature] slain from the foundation of the world”. The act of rejecting Christ appears to be the results of not accepting Him at His being available.

John 1:9, “That [He, Christ] was the Light which gives light to every man coming into the world”. To those who do accept Him and the life that He is, they have the promise of entering into a new state of glory. Heb. 12:22-24, “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.” This is our promised place of rest wherein He is able to meet our all, whatsoever we have need of to fulfill His will.

Wisdom speaks, that our natural senses, that which motivates the natural man, does not see nor feel anything of the state of God’s glory. Our senses only show us a realm of worldly-minded men who are laboring for the poor enjoyments of a vain world. However, unto those who follow spiritual realities in Christ, they declare unto us that we are temples of the Holy Spirit, that we are members of Christ mystical Body, that we are bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh. Herein, we are receiving life, spirit and movement from Him as our head.

John 17:20-22, “I [Jesus] do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.” This speaks of a life and a life style, which is completely dependent upon the Christ. As written, we who have been born of the earthly shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 1 Cor. 15:49, “And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly man”.

God has a purpose and it shall not nor never cease. His purpose shall continue working in all receiving Him until we become a part of His glory. Col. 3:4, “When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory”. This word “appear” means “to lay bare, reveal, uncover, make visible, make known what has been hidden or unknown, make clear”. Thus, by revelation, the Christ is making Himself known, that we may become like Him. 1 John 3:2, “Beloved, now are we the children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” Is this not the day of His appearing? When He is revealing Himself to those that desire to know Him, to these He makes Himself known. What about your heart’s desire, is He known to you? This is God’s purpose with an invitation given, come unto me and I will give you rest.
