“Out of Bondage into Restoration – The Adoption”

All that any overcoming vessel is to become is what he sees as coming out from God. That is, according to man’s revelation and understanding received is that which the man can and will continue to believe until fully manifested. So one of the questions of today is, what is God revealing for men to become? If men continues to entertain and participate in the same understandings and rituals, limited to half-truth doctrines, this position brings forth the same results repeatedly. Paul, the great apostle sent to the Gentiles and the writer of much of the New Testament was to see and know that God’s purpose was a progressive spiritual growth until perfection would finally came. What was Paul seeing that caused him to know this while used by God with much revelation? Paul desired to become much more than that which was expressed unto and manifested by the church at Corinth. 1 Cor. 13:9-12, “For we know [by experience or effort] in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect [that which has reached its end, complete] is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child [not old enough to speak], I spoke as a child [goo gaas], I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known”. Herein, Paul makes it very plain that going around the same old rituals and traditions, year in and year out, will not produce in man the results that God has purposed to bring forth through the man. Therefore, with revelation being released from God during this season’s upcoming “fullness of times” and with the “sixth and then the seventh trumpet” of God beginning to sound across the land, man is without excuse. That is, man becomes accountable to God according to the revelation released from Him.

It was the revelation given to Paul when he met and became a follower of Jesus that spoke loudly to him throughout his entire life. A man who once killed the new born Christians for the sake of tradition, was now a man who desired God and His progressive truths above all else. In this desire, the cry came forth from Paul as he expressed himself before God and unto the Philippian church. Phil. 3:8-15 clarifies this desire, “Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the Excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ. And be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death; if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect; but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things, which are behind [traditions and actions, yesterdays understandings], and reaching forth unto those things which are before [revelation and new understandings]. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing you be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you”.

The above verses speak to us clearly concerning the important aspects of a people who desire to live for Gods completion of purpose. Paul makes clear that the old religious customs incorporated into their life styles were to pass away. Paul, the former promoter of customs and traditions establish by the old laws, knew that now they were to be replaced by a new covenant brought forth by Christ Jesus. That old covenant of religious laws brought forth death; also established as an order of death today through the modern day religious Levitical ministers. It is what the Levitical order fell into that Paul ministered against as God’s word does even today through His raised up new covenant prophets. This new covenant order of God, replacing the old obsolete covenant shall, through the power of Christ’ resurrection, bring forth the appearing of Christ’ perfection. Even now, resurrections power is progressively at work in a receiving people. This receiving people, like Paul, have but one foremost desire and that is to gain Christ. Note, that this desire allows God, in seeing the intent of the heart; He will reveal the hearts true condition and bring forth the necessary changes in those who desire to be changed.

In this, we again need to consider the times and seasons in which we live. A season of great change is upon the world in which Christ shall finally appear fully unto a people. This people are not as the people of the world who desire to dwell in darkness, but these people are the sons of the day, the sons of light. 1 Thess. 5:1-5, “But of the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. You are all children of the light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness”. The word “children” as used in this verse does not speak of babes or immature people, but it is the Greek word “HUIOS” which means “a son, having reference to origin and nature, including that of relationship to the father”. What time and season are we in?

While the days around us are very dark indeed, remember God has spoken forth light as it dwells within a people. These are sons of the light and sons of the day that shall make their appearance upon the earth in order that the fulfillment of God’s promises might come forth unto full manifestation. Among these promises, one stands out as it applies to and shall know its fullness in this day of the Lord. While the world, full of corruption in the arenas of life, God is speaking forth a time of restoration. In this regards we first hear the words of God being spoken through the prophet Zechariah concerning Jerusalem and Zion. With Jerusalem a type of the church and Zion, being a type of God’s first fruits remnant birthed from the church, a word comes forth that also applies to the church of today. The background of this word was in a period of time when the Jews had returned to Jerusalem from captivity. In their return God was desirous to restore unto them the ruined temple. Zech. 1:4, “Be you not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, thus saith the Lord of hosts; turn you now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto Me, saith the Lord”. While evil ways had brought forth captivity and bondage, God, a jealous God with a jealousy for Jerusalem and Zion, still speaks of restoring His people and His temple. In this, God likewise has great jealousy for His true church and the first fruit remnant. (Read verse 14).

In this, deliverance is come; a time of restoration is now upon the earth as the cry of God is now to affect the earth in restoring to Himself His true people, a true church. While the Babylonish church may still be operating, the true church is coming into her time of separation and her time of perfection. While the church with her many daughters (denominations), as we have known them during our time, they have become like cities that have built walls around themselves. These walls have not only had a purpose in protecting the people from sources of change, they also keep a people in a form of bondage. This promotes a type of slavery to a certain set of doctrines and traditions. However, God has a completely different purpose than the carnal minded religious men who try to rule over the church. That is to tear down the walls of man made structures and establish God’s order. Herein God invites and draws His people into His order of life. These torn down walls shall release a time of restoration that shall enlarge the true church, as they re-inhabit the government of God, which is His nature. Nevertheless, in this, God protects His people, not with man made walls of religion, but with a wall of fire, that protects His people through purification. Zechariah again speaks in chapter 2:4-5, “And say to him, run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein: For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire around about, and will be the glory in the midst of her”.

Here then, God’s purpose is a wall of fire to brighten for His accepting people the way and to purify the saints as God makes up His chosen ones to know the adoption of being His sons. These sons shall no longer live as slaves but as mature sons, the sons of adoption. These sons are those who progressively mature into the fullness of times, into the place as the sons at His right hand, a sitting with Jesus in the Fathers throne room.

The promise, Eph. 1:3-5, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will”.

The process, Gal. 4:1-7. “Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so, we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, Abba, Father! Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ”.

Understand that “through Christ” does not mean just being saved from passed committed sins, but it speaks loudly of a people who progressively allow the Holy Spirit to resurrect their “fallen soul” back into a “living soul”, that is to be restored back into the same nature that dwells in Christ. In this, we stand in Him to become the heirs of God as His sons.
